In March 1964, Vee-Jay Records released a 45 RPM 7” EP which featured four songs from the “Introducing… The Beatles” album including “Misery / Taste of Honey / Ask Me Why / Anna. Vee-Jay decided to call the EP “Souvenir of Their Visit to America” as The Beatles came to the US one month earlier and gave a performance at the Ed Sullivan Show. Along with the EP, at the same time around March 23, the company released a 45 RPM single featuring “Do You Want to Know a Secret” and “Thank You Girl” whose picture sleeve is included in this listing as a bonus. The “Souvenir of Their Visit to America” EP and “Do You Want to Know a Secret? / Thank You Girl” Single became the first Beatles 45 RPM records in the US. Original thick cardboard picture sleeve remains sealed in its original early 1960s style TransPak's “Sealed For Your Protection To Keep Clean, Fresh and Brand New” protective distributor baggy with a price seal and a record store tag. "TransPak" is one of the oldest companies doing packaging services which was founded in Silicon Valley, CA in 1952. Considering that the baggy was manufactured by "TransPak" it could be assumed that the distributor which ordered it was also located on the West Coast. Following this logic, it would be rational to assume that distributor ordered this copy from Vee-Jay Records and received it from the Monarch pressing plant, also located on the West Coast, in Los Angeles. It's most likely the distributor of this copy   The stunning cover contains inside an EP with one of the Vee-Jay label variations, which this issue came with. This might be the multicolor band or the all-black label with an oval or a brackets logo, or the rarest and the most collectible label variation, the all-black label with the “VEE-JAY RECORDS” bold banner printed in capital letters at the top, the VJEP 1-903 catalog number along with the band name, song titles and the publishing credits being printed using a thin silver font. The picture sleeve of “Do You Want to Know a Secret? Thank You Girl” Single represents an incredibly rare West Coast variation with a die-cut thumb tab on one side as oppose to a straight top found on the East Coast issue. These picture sleeves were used for commercial copies. The sleeve included in this listing as a bonus doesn’t include a record.

The EP is in stunning Mint condition. The Transpak distributor baggy is in great condition only having some light age shelf wear and a small tear at the bottom right corner of the back cover. The picture sleeve of "Do You Want to Know a Secret? and Thank You Girl" doesn't have any tears, splits, writing, scuffs or wear, just some light creasing in one of the corners and gentle signs of use.
