Description
This is a scarce, original copy of a stereo vinyl album by The Beatles titled Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band released circa 1971 on the black & silver label Parlophone Records. This copy has the rare and short lived transitional sleeve with mono PMC 7027 and stereo CS 7027 errors printed on the top right corner of the rear. It also has the "this is a mono recording" error on the bottom right corner, when in fact this was a stereo recording. It also has the large, double sized flip backs along the top inner only, I have several copies of this album and have not come across this unusual sleeve before. The sleeve is in very tidy, EX+ condition with very little signs of storage or handling wear and is a great example of this scarce and unusual pressing. The record itself with 2 EMI box sliver/black labels is in beautifully clean EX+ condition and comes in it's original company advertising inner sleeve. It also comes with an original Apple Records fold out advertising poster which is folded in half to go inside the sleeve and is in excellent condition. I read on The Beatles website that these transitional sleeves didn't come with the cardboard cut out insert or a Fools inner sleeve, and that this is a complete and original issue from around 1971 and all parts of it are in great condition.
