Description

As many Beatles vinyl collectors know there are many label variations associated with "The Beatles Second Album." This is a 1968/1969 "subsidiary" issue, Stereo ST-2080. This is a super rare Capitol Scranton "IAM" "sub" pressing with a running time for "Long Tall Sally" but NOT for "I Call Your Name."!
**This is a very scarce Undocumented Label Variation issue for this title:
 Spizer .SR21**!!
The very first pressing of the album omitted the running times for the first two tracks on Side 2, ("Long Tall Sally" and "I Call Your Name.")
The second revised label variation corrected this mistake and added the running times to both tracks.
The next revision took place when Capitol Records changed the publishing credits for "I Call Your Name" from ASCAP to BMI.
However, after this change, another mistake was discovered! The running time was dropped for "I Call Your Name", but the running time remained for "Long Tall Sally."  Hold tight, not done yet!
THESE revised labels have "I Call Your Name" misspelled as "I Call YOU Name!"

From this point on the vast majority of pressings of "The Beatles Second Album" were issued with the running times included, with the exception of the L.A. plant and the Jacksonville pressing plant.  Jacksonville never added the running times.

This an undocumented label variation for this title!!

This already rare record is housed in an equally rare #12 Scranton cover.
The very few Scranton records with subsidiary labels often come housed in #12 covers. The #12 covers first appeared in 1968/1969 just about the time the Green labels replaced the rainbow color band variation. At that time Capitol ceased pressing reissue Beatles albums in Scranton. When the Winchester pressing plant was established everything that once was Scranton switched over to Winchester.
