Beatles ‘Please Please Me’ Original Mono First Pressing
(50th Anniversary March 22nd 2013)
This UK 1st Mono pressing dates from initial March 22nd 1963 release on the gold & black Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both sides have 1st variant labels bearing the incorrect 'Dick James Music' credits on tracks 1, 2, 6 & 7 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
This first pressing has Ernest J.Day & Co Tri-Flip back front laminated cover, with large “mono” on front. The photo credit for the front cover: “Photo Angus McBean” is printed in the lower right corner.The text starts at the end of “s” in “songs”.

Side 1
Matrix = XEX 421 – 1N
Mother = 1
Stamper = A
Side 2
Matrix = XEX 422 – 1N
Mother = 1
Stamper = M
Tax Code = ZMT

Vinyl condition Good
Record Plays all the way through.
Side one Good, has a distinct scuff which goeas across tracks 1,2 and 3 and causes a slight jump on track 1 "I saw her standing there". Otherwise runs flat and plays straight and true throughout.
Side two Excellent, just a few superficial markings but no scratches or scuffs and nothing that affects playback.
Outer Sleeve condition Good\Fair
Usual wear and tear for a Record sleeve that is 50 years old, Slight 2" seam split along Top right hand corner with a longer 6" split across the bottom seam from opening inwards also has a small seam split on the spine over the album title.
Top and middle foldbacks are still in place but bottom one has ripped across the split.There is no tape, tape marks or writing on any part of the outer sleeve and the rear notes are all nice and clear (see photos).
NB: Please Note the Album does not have the Original "Emitax" inner sleeve and will come with a a standard white paper inner sleeve.
Labels condition Very Good
Both sides labels are in good condition with near perfect Gold print on both labels. However there is Spindle marks on both sides. (see photos)
