Description
For auction is a very 1969 pressing of The Beatles single Paperback Writer/Rain. With 'Sold In The UK' text. KT on both rims. Stampers- A side-GPM. B side-GEA. A side 9 @ 9'oclock.
This and the subsequent listings were all bought around 1969/70 by the same person, played once or twice and then put away.
Each 45 has a tapered edge unlike earlier pressings which are slightly rough and flat.
This one is rarer still as it is commonly known that EMI/Parlophone were still using up Sold in The UK labels at this time.
I have asked an expert on this who has suggested that these labels ended around 1968/69.
As the Sold in the UK labels were used up and as UK tax laws changed all later pressings had the Sold in The UK text removed.
If any collectors out there can elaborate on this, feel free to let me know.
Condition of vinyl: A side-EX. B side-Ex. Perfect, clean playing surfaces with no spindle wear, writing, scuffs or other damage. Original 1969 sleeve.
Each 45 will be placed in an internal poly liner and will be well packed. I can post Worldwide but please contact me first!
