The Beatles PLEASE PLEASE ME mono PMC 1202
Matrices: XEX 421-1N / XEX 422-2N
LAST EVER PARLOPHONE MONO on the iconic black and yellow label (without ‘sold in u.k. …. text). Dating from 1969 just before EMI switched to Black and Silver label design this copy is exceptionally rare in that by 1969 mono LPs were being phased out as stereo took over so to find such an excellent mono ‘Please Please Me’ from 1969 is very rare.
VINYL: The audio is excellent with minor background crackles in places. No ugly pops or deep clicks. The MONO mix still sounds superb nearly 50 years after being pressed! Visually, lovely clean vinyl with minor superficial marks. The LABELS are very clean examples with minor spindle trails.
COVER: The Garrod & Lofthouse tri-flipback cover with a small ‘mono’ on the front is an excellent example. Slight discolouration on the back and a few minor storage marks. Good, clean corners with strong flipbacks. Excellent clear SPINE with ‘pinched’ top and bottom.
The INNER SLEEVE is the original sepia EMI paper bag advertising other contemporary LPs, no rips or tears, excellent condition. This LP will come with a replacement die cut inner to protect the original inner.
