The Beatles, PLEASE PLEASE ME – ORIGINAL 1963 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE RARE **DECCA CONTRACT PRESSING** mono VINYL LP - PMC 1206.
Released on the 22nd March 1963, this mono LP, for The Beatles Debut UK album release is on the Black and Yellow Parlophone label, contracted out to Decca Records at the time to cope with the demand of pre-release orders for the much awaited Beatles Debut Album Release.
Both record labels have the ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, ‘Made in Gt Britain’ & recording first published 1963 label text, and the distinctive circular groove Decca Records labels
Both record label are in Very Good Plus condition, clean record labels with several signs of play to each label and light wear to the spindle holes.
The side 1 matrix is: XEX 421-1N and side 2: XEX 422-1N.
Side 1 stampers markings: 11 and side 2: 14 there are no letters visible on the stamper markings.
Both sides of Heavyweight vinyl LP are in Very Good Plus condition, both sides of the vinyl still retain their deep gloss shine with a few surface hairline scratches to both sides but nothing major and no deep scratches.
Audio Quality:
As expected with these early vinyl LPs the album plays superbly well throughout all of the tracks, a very strong and powerful mono sound quality with just light background crackle, there are no skips.
The LP comes in it’s original poly lined use Emitex Inner bag, and is protected in it’s original front Laminated Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd London three Flip Back Sleeve, with large 'mono’ printed to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
The sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition, a clean and glossy front panel, showing nothing more than mild record indentation and a couple of small manufacturing laminate pinches.
The reverse panel of the sleeve shows handling signs and age spots and is in Very Good condition.
The top and bottom edges are undamaged, the spine edge has a 2” split see scan below.
