1963 - mono - 3rd / 1st pressing
This is a true 3rd pressing of The Beatles first U.K. album release and the 1st example of the new Parlophone label The new label displayed a large 33 1/3 running speed but also displayed the old style small version too, in error. As well as this, the date of release is missing from the labels; this being subsequently added to later pressings.

Audio: Very Good - (Sounds great!)
Most of the tracks play without any issues and very clear sound quality; there is just the occasional pop/click here and there, which play through without issue on my deck. The disc plays as well as could be expected from a frequently played popular album. The run-ins/outs are very quiet which is always a good indication of sound quality. This is a nice copy.
Visually: Obviously these pop albums were bought to be played and as such, this copy shows typical surface lines and visible spindle trails. However, the vinyl still has a good deep gloss and no groove wear. It has not suffered from a damaged or worn stylus/needle. There is an original owner's name in pen, both sides but the only way I noticed it was against reflected light. It's not very obvious.
Cover:
This is a comparatively rare first issue 'Gold' example with Angus McBean to the extreme right, in the bottom corner. It is in poor condition, not helped by the discolouration of the sticky tape, so should only be considered for it's rarity. I have taken lots of photos which are more accurate than just a general description.

It's impossible to know how many of these 1st pressings were released before the label error was noticed and corrected, but it is generally considered to be a rare issue, alongside its rarest 'Gold' McBean cover.
