Description
In this auction:
· “ON AIR – LIVE AT THE BBC VOLUME 2” by The Beatles
· This is Apple Records BBCLPEP.
· This is a PROMOTIONAL EXTENDED PLAY (EP) RECORD. There are 3 tracks on the A Side and 2 tracks on the B Side.
· It is an EU (European) Pressing.
· Both sides are MONO (Monaural).
· This record was released October 14, 2013.
· It was produced to promote the release of the Beatles’ LP “On Air-Live at the BBC Volume 2”. In fact, printed on the rear of the cover is “Taken from the album ‘On Air-Live at the BBC Volume 2’ OUT NOVEMBER 11th 2013”
· As you may know, PROMO RECORDS are produced in VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES and are often released by record companies ONLY to the radio stations and DJs for airplay. They are not usually released or made available to the general public. However, I read on Discogs.com that only “300 copies were given away as a free promo by HMV, 363 Oxford Street, from 8am on October 14, 2013 to commemorate their relocation to their original store premises….other copies were used as promos”.
· Both the COVER and the LABELS have “FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.
· The COVER is of sturdy poster board construction.
· The A-Side tracks are: “Words of Love”, “Please Mister Postman”, and “I Saw Her Standing There”.
· The B-Side tracks are: “Do You Want To Know A Secret” and “Boys”.
· There is NO listing of the tracks on the labels. They are only printed on the sleeve.
· There are NO play times listed on the labels or printed on the cover.
· Both the COVER and the VINYL are NEAR MINT!!! There are a couple of VERY small and light indentions on the cover on the white center line between John’s and Paul’s faces and a tiny one under John’s left eye. These are hardly visible and hardly noticeable.
· A VERY NICE LIMITED PRESSING BEATLES PROMO RECORD for YOUR vinyl collection!!!
FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY grade the LPs and 45s I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
