Description
In this auction is 1 original Beatles Picture Sleeve and 1 original Beatles 45 RPM record.
Here are the details:
· “MATCHBOX” b/w “SLOW DOWN” by The Beatles
· This is Capitol Records 5255.
· This record was issued August 24, 1964.
· This ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. There is a price stamped on the “S” in “BEATLES” on the “Slow Down” side (B-side). There is a very tiny hint of ring wear on this sleeve, not significant at all and hardly mentionable. (You’ll have to look hard to see it.) There are what look like a couple of very small and very light droplets beside George’s head on the “Matchbox” side (A-side). There is slight wear in the form of very small and very light folds/creases (light signs of handling) at the top opening of the sleeve. There are NO SEAM SPLITS, NO TEARS and NO WRITING on this sleeve. The IMAGES are NICE and CLEAN.
· This is a Straight-cut (EAST COAST) Sleeve.
· The VINYL is in VG CONDITION. There are a number of very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”), and the vinyl has lots of gloss. There is very light/slight wear on the labels.
· I’ve always wondered about the attraction that this particular picture sleeve has. I read that many collectors want it because the Beatles didn’t write either of the two songs and because it has the “live/stage concert” image (although not in the best focus) on the sleeve.
A VERY DESIRABLE and one of the more HARD-TO-FIND BEATLES PICTURE SLEEVES these days.
