FOR SALE:
A stunning example of The Beatles ‘The Collection’ MFSL original master recordings box set. This is a truly beautiful copy of this classic 1980s stereo remaster set, including every Beatles LP in stereo and well as a geo disc, and presented in a stunning, clasp sealing display box.
The box itself is in stunning Excellent condition. There are a few very small dinks and the clasp and hinges show minor age related wear as photographed. The closing clasp is fully functional.
The sleeves of all the records are all in absolutely stunning near mint condition. Some show signs of wear on the lower left corner, I believe this is due to a slight design flaw where the box closes and bumps against them. It would therefore be near impossible to find a copy without this defect. However, overall the sleeves are beautiful and I believe that some have never even been removed from the box.
The vinyl records themselves are Mint. I am extremely reluctant to give this grading, however it is truly deserved here. The records are unplayed. I have played one or two sides for my own pleasure, however the gentleman I purchased this box from confirmed that they have never been played and he was the only owner. Viewing the photographs, you will see that the discs pictures haven’t got a single scratch on them. I have photographed them under the flash of my camera to highlight and defects, but there are none present. These records are truly archive quality, and the few that I have played sound absolutely superb. I would not be surprised if many of these have never even seen the light of day since being originally sealed.
The geo disc is in immaculate mint condition too. There is a slight defect on the sleeve of it, in that some of the glue on the top seam has come away.
Also included is the original book, again in stunning condition. Along with this is also an original return slip for the box set, as photographed.
Overall, this is a rare find. An absolutely stunning set, fit for any collector of The Beatles music.
