This 1962 very 1st Issue Beatles Love Me Do/ PS I Love You 45 is very rare, it could have been used for promotional purposes at the time, it has the Demonstration Vinyl 45 ‘JR’ Stamper on side 2. This unique *JR* stamper only usually appears on the Love Me Do Demonstration Vinyl 45, there is a Single ‘G’ Stamper on side 1, additionally the single comes in an Urgent Special Rush Release Promo Sleeve, also a NEMS paper record bag, and two Music Newspapers, the Melody Maker Dated Friday October 6th 1962, the day after the release of the single, and a New Musical Express Dated Friday October 19th 1962, both newspapers feature an article for the release of The Beatles debut single Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You on Parlophone.
Item Description & Condition:
Released by Parlophone, UK on 5th October 1962 – this VERY FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim and With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits, this issue is **WITH** the ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in superb undamaged Excellent Plus condition, there is NO fading to the Red background and NO fading to the CLEAR Silver Printed Text, there are just a few light centre spindle lines to each label.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2: 7XCE-17145-1N.
The Side 1 stamper letters are ZT1 G. and Side 2: ZT JR the Embossed letters PT are visible on the side one record label.
Side 1 of the Vinyl Disc is slightly better than side 2, and is in really superb Excellent Plus condition, bright unworn vinyl surfaces, with no deep scratches or scuffs, showing just a couple of light surface hairlines.
Side 2 of the Vinyl Disc is in Excellent condition, again bright unworn vinyl surfaces, with no deep scratches or scuffs, showing just a few light surface hairline scratches.
Play Quality:
Both sides of the record play very well throughout, without skips, clicks or pops, there is hardly any background crackle on both songs, a great sound quality.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL Promotional Special Rush Release Top Pop Sleeve which is in very nice Excellent condition, showing just light creasing, there are NO seam splits, tears, or writing.
The original NEMS Music Shop Paper record bag is also in Excellent condition, showing just light creasing, there are NO seam splits, tears, or writing.
The two original and rare 1962 Music Newspapers are both in superb and complete Excellent condition, they both have many articles of new releases at the time, advertisements, and photographs of current Artistes. Most importantly each Newspaper features an article for the release of The Beatles UK Debut Single Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You.
