-
“INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” by The Beatles
-
This is Vee Jay Records SR-1062.
-
It was issued beginning in February, 1964.
-
This is a RARE VEE JAY STEREO PRESSING.
-
The front cover has the “STEREOPHONIC” banner at the top.
-
“STEREO” is printed at the top of both labels.
-
As you probably know, ALL BEATLES VEE JAY STEREO PRESSINGS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE RARE THAN MOST OF THE MONO PRESSINGS.
-
This is VERSION 2 of this LP title with column back cover and includes the cuts “Ask Me Why” and “Please Please Me” that replaced “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You” which were on Version 1 of this LP title.
-
The LABELS are BLACK with PERIMETER COLOR-BAND, VEE JAY (VJ) BRACKETS LOGO and SILVER PRINTING.
-
There were three label typesetting variations for these stereo pressings. This variation has labels with the printing “Long Playing” and “Microgroove” in uppercase and lowercase letters, and the word “STEREO” is printed at the top of each label.
-
The labels have the sides identified with Roman Numerals. Side 1 is printed as “Side I” and Side 2 is printed as “Side II”.
-
BOTH COVER and VINYL ARE ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC. We know this because:
-
The cover has George’s shadow.
-
The LP title and the catalog number are printed on the spine.
-
The labels have “THE BEATLES” printed above the spindle hole.
-
The vinyl disc has the words “AudioMatrix” partially and lightly stamped in the trail-off on both sides.
-
So you can bid with confidence that you are receiving the real deal and not a counterfeit.
-
The COVER is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION with some VERY LIGHT wear at the bottom edge of the front cover slick. There is a VERY SMALL “push” on the top left corner and LIGHT wear on 3 corners. Hardly worth mentioning, but there is a TINY HINT of wear in the center on John’s shoulder. The rear cover slick shows VERY LIGHT foxing/aging with some very small age-related spotting. There is NO writing, NO ring wear, NO tears, NO flaking and NO seam splits on this cover. Please refer to the images, and you can see this STEREO VEE JAY COVER displays VERY NICELY.

The VINYL is in VERY NICE VG CONDITION. There are a number of VERY LIGHT SURFACE hairlines/scuffs (None of them are “feel-able”), and the vinyl is QUITE GLOSSY. I’ve seen lots of copies of this LP (mono and stereo), and many had some seriously noticeable scratches. But, NOT THIS ONE! You can also see in the images that there is VERY LIGHT wear on the labels, especially around the spindle hole. The Side 1 label has some VERY LIGHT spindle trails primarily visible only from certain angles.
Maybe you’re looking for a VEE JAY STEREO COPY of “Introducing… THE BEATLES” for your vinyl collection?
