THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'


This unusual and rare UK 1st mono pressing of their second film soundtrack album dates from initial August 1965 release.

On the black & yellow Parlophone labels (PMC 1255) with the 'Sold in UK...' text and 'The Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.

A 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.


Matrices: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2

Stamper codes: 6/RLM & 1,8/RLG

Disc weight: 150g


Housed in a rare, misprinted 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover where the magenta colour has been printed out of register, resulting in a ghosting effect.

Quality control at Garrod & Lofthouse was extremely strict, especially in relation to Beatles product, so misprinted covers such as this rarely made it out of the factory.

Comes complete with original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.


CONDITION

Labels: EXCELLENT

A clean set with some spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: VERY GOOD + 

Clean playing surfaces with a couple of light, non-feelable surface marks and a trace of clouding from the inner-sleeve on side 2, but nothing we would call a scratch.

Audio: EXCELLENT 

An impressive sounding disc with warm & clean sound quality throughout with no groove/playwear distortion, clicks, pops or any other significant audible distractions.

Cover: EXCELLENT -

A strong & clean example which retains a clean & gloss front panel laminate bearing a couple of small 'thumbnails' wrinkles only. There is light bruising to the corners and some minor wear to opening edges, but no tears or missing paper. The exposed rear panel is as clean & white with the only blemishes being two tiny marks against the side 1 track-listing. All flibacks are undamaged and in-place and both seams and the spine are smooth & without stresses or splits.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & crisp with gentle storage wrinkling with no writing, tears or seam splits.
