Description

The Beatles: Help. Ex Audio. Rare Label 2nd Press? 2/2 Matrix. Emitex Inner. Exc.

PLAY TESTED AUGUST 15TH.

NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING.

Stunning near mint audio. Barely a pop or crackle, even on the lead in/intro to each side, and completely without a skip, jump or sticking anywhere. I’ve rarely heard a better audio reproduction on an early press.

I’ve hunted high and low for details on this label variant, and cannot see/find another anywhere. I believe it to be a 2nd pressing, variant C (see thebeatles-collection.com) due to the second line on side 2 beginning with BIEM, and ‘Yesterday’ no longer beginning on its own line, but the third line starts with ‘Northern Songs’, rather than ‘Songs’, so I’m not sure. Could be ultra rare.

It’s housed in a G&L front laminated flipback, with outline mono to front. All other details are as you’d expect, and comes in an original tracing paper lined Emitex die-cut inner, with KT tax code to side 2 label.

Playback: Excellent.

Absolutely superb audio. Barely a pop, crackle, surface noise etc on either side. Even the quiet passages are very quiet.

Vinyl appearance. Minimum VG+/Ex

Very few light marks/hairlines, and it genuinely looks very lightly played, and superbly cared for.

Label appearance. VG+

Side 1: Bright, clean and graffiti free, with minor spindle ware really only visible when held under angled light.

Side 2: As above, with just two tiny dots/marks above the yellow ‘Parlophone’.

Sleeve. VG+

G&L front laminated flipback is minimum VG+. Very minor/small creases to front (please zoom in on photos). No laminate lifting. Barely any feathering, though the tiniest nick/cut to rear (left of George). Entirely graffiti free. Small ware mark to right of John, that I’ve tried to show on the photo.

The spine is again minimum VG+, possibly excellent. Beautifully legible and strong.

Original Emitex Inner. VG.

Tracing paper lined due cut inner, though with some creasing, is generally VG+/Ex again, with the smallest seam split to bottom. Completely graffiti free, with no tares.

Pressing Information.

Matrix Side 1: YEX 549-2 (at 1 ‘O’ Clock)

Stamper: AHH (at 10 ‘O’ Clock)

No Mother number visible.

Matrix Side 2: YEX 550-2 (at 6 ‘O’ Clock)

Stamper: APG (at 3 ‘O’ Clock)

Mother: 2 (at 9 ‘O’ Clock).

I’d describe the overall item as excellent, just because the audio is superb, and I’m normally quite conservative in my listings/gradings, but am confident that you’ll agree once you hear it. You will not be disappointed.

Please view all photos, as they form part of the description. More available upon request.

Items will be well packaged, and posted via Royal Mail 2nd class signed for, at a cost of £4.45, plus 50p to cover EBay p&p fees.

I’m a trusted seller, with a 100% positive feedback rating, largely for vinyl records, so bid with confidence.

Previous feedback included:

‘Great Service +++++’

‘Very helpful and great to deal with. Items were even better than described!!! And arrived early’.

‘Top ebayer ! Highly recommended! Thanks! AAAAA++++++

Other items also available. 50% postage discount given on any subsequent item purchased.

Immediate payment much appreciated, though not insisted upon. However, if payment is not made within the accepted four day timeframe (unless previously agreed), I will report it to EBay as non-payment, and leave negative feedback. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but non-payment seems to be on the increase, and it’s irritating and time consuming to chase after those who don’t pay on time.
