Description
This is the original first Christmas Flexi by The Beatles on the Lyntone label catalogue number Lyn 492. Not too many of this particular flexi have survived in such a beautiful condition as many suffered as a result of bad handling, storage etc. The flimsy manufacturing rendered these flexi's very vulnerable to damage and required careful handling and storage. This particular copy has been very carefully looked after and is in a genuine Mint minus condition. What is even rarer is that it comes with the original mailer and envelope stiffener with a post mark of 11th December 1963. The envelope was roughly opened on receipt leaving a jagged ragged tear where it was originally torn. However after that initial poor handling it was tucked away for over 50 years without seeing the light of day. As a consequence the outer sleeve of the disc has remained an original bright and unfaded yellow. Without seeing it personally I cannot explain how good this looks but have attempted to do so with the photo's. This makes others that have been listed look tired and aged. It really is a MINT minus copy.
The envelope besides the initial tearing has survived remarkably well and only has a small hole in the front bottom corner. The post mark is bright and clear. It's hard enough to find a great copy of this item but with the mailer included is next to impossible.
The outer sleeve has no creases, no writing, no staining and no other damage. Remarkable.
The disc itself looks unplayed although I guess it must have been played at least once. The playing surface retains a beautiful shine and does not displays any scratches or other marks whatsoever. The label is brilliant white and is as new.
This item is a very rare find and is in an outstanding MINT minus condition.
