Description

Hello and welcome to this rare auction listing!  Exactly a year after the world lost John Lennon to a premature and unfortunate demise, England's Parlophone records released a wonderful collection of 14, 45rpm "extended play" 7 inch vinyl records in a dark blue case that mimics the look of the "The Beatles L.P. Collection" of 1978 and later used for the Mobile Fidelity LP box set.  Don't let the "extended play" (ep) moniker fool you, these are not extended play versions- just that there are 4 songs on each 7inch!

Focusing on their earlier Parlophone releases, the collection contains 12 original E.P.'s in mono, the "Magical Mystery Tour" double E.P. in stereo and a rarities E.P. of unreleased stereo versions.  All have Parophone black label and a picture sleeve.  The records are as follows in chronological order (remember that each has 4 songs);

The Beatles Hits, Twist and Shout, The Beatles No. 1, All My Loving, Long Tall Sally, A Hard Day's Night (extracts from the film), A Hard Day's Night (extracts from the film) Vol. 2, Beatles For Sale, Beatles For Sale No. 2, The Beatles Million Sellers, Yesterday, Nowhere Man, Magical Mystery Tour (6 tracks) and Rarities.

The records themselves are in excellent condition having rarely been played by the original owner.  There are no scratches or skips.  The outside case is in VG shape with moderate edge wear, an inked-over scrape on top of case, slight fraying on lid and scratches on the back. A few of the 7inch sleeves have light ring wear but most are pristine.

The Rock Shop is a new partnership between two long-time music fans.  One has worked in the music and events promotion business for 35 years and had the great fortune of working with the late Bill Graham in San Francisco for 15 of those years.  We have just starting and we look forward to listing many other rare and interesting rock music paraphernalia in the future.  We are not professional collectors who just constantly buy and sell, inflating prices as we go. Most of the items we will list have been in the possession of one of us for many years and we feel they really need a new home where someone with a love of rock and roll will cherish them into the future!

Please feel free to ask questions and goog luck bidding!
