I am the original purchaser of this “Beatles Collection” box set and ALL13 albums have NEVER been played.  Additionally, the albums have not been handled in nearly 35 years, so they are virtually in mint condition. However, since the box is not sealed, I would classify them as NEAR MINT.

As you may know, the US pressing of The Beatles “Rarities”album came in a printed blue paper sleeve.  When I first purchased this box set in 1978, I immediately removed the “Rarities” LP from its paper sleeve and have since stored it in an acid-free inner poly sleeve and acid-free outer cardboard sleeve.  As mentioned before, it has NEVER been played and is NEAR MINT.

Likewise, the “Rarities” printed paper sleeve has also been protected in an acid-free poly sleeve, so it is also in NEAR MINT condition – there is no record ring wear, tears, splits or creases in the printed paper sleeve.

The Capitol Records poster is also in NEAR MINT condition.  It too is in an acid-free poly sleeve.  This item is usually missing when buying this box set today, and it is rare to find it in this condition.

The LP box (#003253) shows little wear at all.  Corners are sharp and solid; the front, back & sides are scuff-free; and the fabric box hinges are stiff and strong and show no fabric wear.  There is a small slight discolored spot due to aging on one side of the outer box (see photo).  Overall though, the box is in EXCELLENT condition.

The US release of The Beatles Collection boxed set is the RAREST of all of the various country releases of The Beatles Collection box set worldwide.  This box set is NOT the one known commonly as the "Blue Box".  That is the more common UK release.

The Capitol Records pressing of “Rarities” differs from ALL other “Rarities” pressings (UK, Japan, Australia, etc) worldwide in that it includes the English-language versions of "She Loves You" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand," rather than the German-language versions found on all other country pressings.  

Additionally, the US release of The Beatles Collection was also a limited edition NUMBERED release of only 5,000 numbered copies, making it the rarest, and most in demand of all other issues of the box set worldwide.

I am happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the box set.  I don’t believe you could easily find another copy of this item in such complete and excellent condition here on Ebay or elsewhere on the internet.  It has been stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment since I purchased it and has not been used.
