Description
The
Beatles
Collection
This is the famous “Blue Box” set of 13 Albums (14 total LP’s) as manufactured in the UK. All inserts for White Album (pictures & poster) along with Sgt. Pepper’s cutout included. The 13 albums include:
Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Yellow Submarine, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album (2 LPs), Abbey Road, Let It Be & Rarities
All records themselves appear to be in absolutely NM –Mint condition. They have not been tested (played) but you will not be unhappy. All are brilliant in appearance and really have no visible scratches, scuffs or finger prints present. Labels also in great shape (except Side 1 –with the beatles…see below). Spindle holes also have little to no wear present. Based on condition, these records were very well cared for and very rarely played.
All record inner sleeves are in EX to NM/M condition. Some sleeves show light creases (EX) but most are in the NM condition. All are plain white and have numbers printed on them. Most sleeves are labeled “Printed in Great Britain” and a couple are labeled “Envelope made in Western Germany”. The common number on all sleeves appears to be 321 and I have no idea what that represents.
Blue box itself is in EX to NM- condition with very minor blemishes to corners only. Edges in great shape showing little to no wear at all. Only a small surface indentation on bottom front of box is present and is really minor –no loss of color or surface color. Top flap opens and closes as it should.
Cardboard picture sleeves are for the most part are in NM condition with no loss of color, solid edges all around with absolutely no seam splitting. A few do have some imperfections present but should not take away from the overall quality of owning this set of records –you decide after reading below.
Here is list of imperfections I found upon examining this record set. These are the only issues to put a blemish on this set. All else is great and again, all records themselves are in NM condition regardless of these cosmetic issues I found.
>The Beatles Rarities- some small creases along spine and bottom corner of cardboard picture sleeve
>A Hard Day’s Night- Top seam split about 1” and corner dings to cardboard picture sleeve
>Yellow Submarine- Visible creases to top right & left cardboard sleeve above record level-present to front & back of picture sleeve
>with the beatles- Record obviously came with both sides glued with a “Side 2” label in error. Original owner made a small rectangular yellow label that was neatly printed with the correct songs for “Side 1” and glued it to face of the true Side 1. Not sure why they would do that but it is what it is!
>Let it Be- Inner white sleeve has some unknown staining present but does not alter record condition at all. Same staining on one White Album inner sleeve too. Not sure what caused it but records & picture sleeves are not affected at all so I assume it happened when loose(?).
