Description

The Beatles "Blue Box" Collection BC-13

Hello,

You are looking The Beatles collection, aka “The Blue Box.”I was given this Beatles set in 1979 or 1980 by a friend that worked for TowerRecords, in San Diego, CA. It was a thoughtful gift, but I already had almostall the albums in the set and so as far as I can remember I never been played anyof them.  I simply put them up on theshelf with the rest of my vinyl collection and there they sat. The Blue Box hasbeen following me around ever since, stored on shelves, in closets, or in boxeswith several hundred other LPs. Well, I no longer have a record player and I amin need of shelf space, so I am getting rid of my entire record collection andthe Blue Box is part of it.

The labeling on the end of the box is BC 13, but I can’tread the rest of the numbers. All the album spines are unwrinkled. All of theLPs are in wonderful shape, mostly since they have never been completelyremoved from the sleeves or played. I slid each LP about half way out today tocheck their condition and to my knowledge that is the most light they have everseen.  The LPs look new. There are 13albums, and 14 LPs, since the White Album has two records. Speaking of the WhiteAlbum there are four large photos of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, as well asa foldout poster that has song lyrics. The Sgt. Pepper’s album also has thecardboard insert with the cutout prints.

The following titles are included:

1 - Please Please Me

2 - With The Beatles

3 - A Hard Day's Night

4 - Beatles For Sale

5 - Help!

6 - Rubber Soul

7 - Revolver

8 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

9 - The Beatles (White Album)

10 - Yellow Submarine

11 - Abbey Road

12 - Let It Be

13 - Rarities

Always caringly stored, never played, and in my opinioneverything is in great condition, but nothing this old is perfect. I have triedto capture all positive and negative aspects of the Blue Box and records in myphotos. The Blue Box is really clean, bright, unfaded, and the only problem I seeis that the glue holding a paper “hinge” of the flip-top lid has dried out andthe paper has come off half of the box (on the inside, see photo detail). The paperhinge is not torn, just unstuck. I could have re-glued it, but I’ll leave thatyou. There stains on the inner sleeves of five of the albums. One of my photosshows a sleeve without any staining and compares it to the sleeve with thelargest number of stains. I don’t know where the stains came from, they are notwater related, and the LPs and the LP center labels are without stains ormarks. There are also some green spots on the Please Please Me cover. I thinkit is printing issue, but I’m not sure.  That’s about it, I’m not a record collectorand I have described everything the best of my ability - if you have anyquestions, please feel free to ask.

Note: Shipping is free and via USPS media mail, I only shipwithin in the USA (unless someone gives me a really good reason to shipelsewhere), and I only accept PayPal.

Good Luck Bidding

Just an update: a very knowledgeable and nice bidder believes that my Blue Box collection is from between 1980 and 1983. I am almost 100% certain that I received it in 1980 (it was a gift).
