Original 1st US 7” 45 RPM Mono pressing of The Beatles “Ain’t She Sweet b/w Nobody’s Child” released by ATCO Records on July 6th, 1964. “Ain’t She Sweet” features John Lennon’s vocal and was recorded in Hamburg in 1961 during The Beatles early days while the “Nobody’s Child” track was recorded with the vocal of Tony Sheridan. Track was recorded with the vocal o Original 1st issue picture sleeve printed by Queens Litho, NY with an image of the wigs, “ATCO 6308” catalog number and blue track titles. Original 1st print ATCO Records yellow & white labels, also printed by Queens Litho, with the large white ATCO banner and “45-6308” catalog number. Among the four existing label variations for this issue, the labels of this 1st pressing copy represent Type 1 with “The Beatles” banner printed in small loosely spaced letters, with the “Vocal by John Lennon” credit in small uppercase letters to the left of the center hole on Side 1 and the “With Tony Sheridan” text below the band’s name on Side 2. Very early 1st MGM Records, Bloomfield, NJ plant pressing with the block looking “S” identifier in the runout groove of Side 1. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - 64-C-7884-5 AT WP BLOCK-LOOKING S; Side 2 - 64-C-8005-6 AT WP. This rare copy comes with the original 2” x 7” insert reading “Ain’t She Sweet Nobody’s Child The Beatles” with a die-cut hole, which we assume was the upper part of the record’s original retail packaging.

The white picture sleeve is very clean and in Near Mint Minus condition without having any splits, tears, ring wear, soiling, writing or residue. We grade the record as Excellent Minus for Side 1 and Near Mint Minus for Side 2 as it’s very clean. The vinyl retains its beautiful factory gloss with Side 1 having a few very light non-feelable surface hairlines and marks, the majority of which are located on the edge and trail-off vinyl rather than on the playable area. The labels are very clean and in Near Mint Minus condition without having any spindle marks, scuffs or wear, with the Side 2 label only having a very light factory defect in the form of a few “bubbles”. The vinyl sounds great having a warm and soft sound. The original “Ain’t She Sweet” sheet music is in great vintage Near Mint condition.
