Description

The Beatles

2nd-State “Butcher Cover”

Yesterday and Today

Capitol T 2553 This is a much-sought-after second-state Beatles “Butcher Cover” album. The original album was pasted over with a photo of the Beatles posing around a steamer trunk. I know it is difficult to see in the photos, but I can definitely see Ringo’s black turtleneck on the right side of the cover. You can also see the lettering in the far top-right corner that was mostly pasted over.

There has been no attempt to peel the cover. The jacket has been used but not abused, and is better than several I have seen on Ebay. The cover is level and straight with no bent corners. There is some ring wear on the front and back. There is a 3” seam split on the top of the jacket. It is a mono copy with a “6” mark on the back near the RIAA seal. I would rate Side 1 as Good with several small scratches, and Side 2 as Fair with one long scratch and several smaller ones. There was no inner sleeve when I bought this record, so I am including a “rice-paper” sleeve.

I have been asked to add a better photo showing Ringo's turtleneck. I have increased "Highlights" in iPhoto. I hope you can now see it more clearly.
