BOTH VERSIONS OF THE 20th ANNIVERSARY RELEASE OF, LOVE ME DO/P.S. I LOVE YOU WITH OFFICIAL EMI PAPERWORK FOR BOTH RELEASES.

Item Description & Condition:

Love Me Do was The Beatles Debut UK single and was originally released by Parlophone, UK on 5th October 1962 - almost 53 years ago.

Both versions were manufactured by EMI to celebrate the 50th Anniversary in 2012, of the original release. The first release incorrectly play’s the Please Please Me Album version of Love Me Do with Andy White on Drums. By demand this version was quickly withdrawn by EMI and replaced with the correct version of the song with with Ringo Starr on drums.

Both vinyl 45s are on the distinctive RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, and solid centres. The withdrawn version of the single has distinct dull grey coloured text, the corrected version has brighter Silver label text. Additionally the side two catalogue numbers are printed incorrectly and read, 45-R 4714, instead of 45-R 4949, this label error remained uncorrected on both original versions.

Both vinyl 45s come in a card sleeves, with the same colouring and design as the 1962 original paper sleeve. The records and card sleeves are in brand new Mint condition.

Accompanying both issues of the vinyl single are photo copies of the following, a copy each of the dated EMI Consignment/Delivery Notes dated, 01-10-2012 & 18-10-2012, also a copy of the EMI Music Catalogue Marketing sheet, a copy of the not to be sold until Friday 5th October, and finally a copy of the EMI faulty stock recall letter.
