Original 1st US pressing promotional release of The Beach Boys’ debut album “Surfin’ Safari” released by Capitol Records on October 1st, 1962. The currently listed factory sealed copy contains an incredibly rare misprint cover. The Stereo copies of this album came with the banner reading “Capitol Full Dimensional Stereo” while the Duophonic covers contained the “Capitol Duophonic® For Stereo Phonographs Only”. These banners are mutually exclusive. However, the cover of this promotional copy contains both banners simultaneously. Finding a cover with the misprint double banner is extremely hard, but finding a factory sealed copy of this issue is practically impossible. Moreover, this copy isn’t just factory sealed but represents a promotional copy with the top left corner of the back cover containing a white “Promotion Copy Not For Sale” sticker underneath the shrink wrap. It's guaranteed that inside this copy you’ll find the original black Capitol Records multi-color band labels with a “Duophonic For Stereo Phonographs Only” banner and “DT-1808” catalog number. If you look carefully, then through the fully intact shrink wrap at the mouth of the cover you’ll be able to see inside the original “Capitol ’66: Sounds Great” inner sleeve.

Beautiful vintage copy in Mint Minus condition. The bottom left and right corners only have a very light and barely noticeable ding. The shrink wrap is fully intact and doesn't have any splits, tears or missing pieces containing two original breathe holes on each side of the album.
