The Beach Boys "Stack-O-Tracks"

This is a US vinyl pressing on Capitol DKAO 8-2893  from 1968.     This album was recorded by The Beach Boys with no vocals.    All of the songs are instrurmentals, so that you could sing the vocals.    ( Kareoke before there was Kareoke)    It comes with a 16 page booklet with the music and lyrics for every song.      What makes this unique is that The Beach Boys actually perfomed the songs themselves.      Every song is unique.    There was a Beatles album like this on Tower Records ( Sing A Song With The Beatles ), but The Beatles didn't play the music.

All copies of this record are rare, because it didn't sell at all when issued in 1968.    It was the third Beach Boy album issued in 1968.        'Stack -O-Tracks' was issued on the same day as 'Best Of The Beach Boys Volume 3', and looked like a last ditch effort by Capitol Records to sell any Beach Boys albums.     It was the first Beach Boys album that did not chart in the USA or in the UK.      The Capitol Record club issue is especially rare, because only members of The Record Club were able to get it.   

Overall Condition is : Cover is M- /  Record is M

The gatefold cover is Mint minus with no ring wear and no seam splits.   There is a small name and number stamped on the back cover at top center.    The vinyl looks mint and it plays mint.    The labels are perfect with no spindle marks.   The 16 page booklet is near mint.    The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve. 

The songs are : Darlin', Salt Lake City, Sloop John B, In My Room, Catch A Wave, Wild Honey, Little Saint Nick, Do It Again, Wouldn't It Be Nice, God Only Knows, Surfer Girl, Little Honda, Here Today, You're So Good To Me, and Let Him Run Wild.

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.  

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides. 

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 13 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.     This record will weigh 29 ounces ( 1 pound, 13ounces ) when ready to ship.   US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an automatic email with the tracking number.      Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International.    You will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number.      ( Buyers from Brazil must assume all risks for shipping to their country. )      I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine shipping if you win more than one record.      Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.
