Hello. Thanks for checking out my auction. After several years of debate with my wife, I have finally caved in and have agreed to part with my precious record collection. The majority of my records were bought while a teenager and into my early 20’s. During that time period I acquired a couple thousand albums. It just didn’t seem right to discard them at the local thrift store as my wife suggested, so here I am selling them on ebay. That way I will get the satisfaction of knowing they are at least going to someone who will love them as I once did (and still do)! I assure you they were all handled with great care and appreciation.
A very nice rare, hard to find album from The Baroques. Recorded in 1967, the song Mary Jane was banned from airplay in many markets. This is a real collectors item. Most dealers would rate this Near mint to Mint. I'm not sure how to rate a 40 year old record but this one is truly a gem. I'm sure my rating below is conservative.
The Baroques, 1967 Chess Records LPS 1516. Vinyl= VG++ almost excellent, Jacket= VG++ has a slight curve to it (just from age, the record is not warped and looks great) and shows very ring wear on the front.
Below is a grading chart I created to help you identify the quality of each record. Once again, I’m not a professional dealer. I have graded each record the best I can. Please email me any specific questions you might have. I want you to be satisfied.
Sealed: Still in the shrink wrap and never played.
Excellent: Vinyl - Has been played a few times but vinyl looks shiny new and appears to be scratch and fingerprint free.
Jacket – Looks new and does not show any shelf wear.
Very Good: Vinyl – It might have a light scuff or small surface scratch that you could only see if you hold it under a bright light. It is expected to play almost perfectly.
Jacket – No rips but might show minor ring wear from storage.
Good: Vinyl – Obviously been played but still will play good. It might have minor scratches and scuffs.
Jacket – It shows wear from years on the shelf, corners might show wear.
Fair: Vinyl - Plays but has lots of flaws.
