This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine Mint/EX condition UK first pressing. The record is in immaculate Mint condition and the cover and inner sleeve are in Excellent condition. All items are free from any major defects like scratches, tears, dog-ears, stickers, writing, stains or the like. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1977, not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original 1977 UK stereo LP, which was only played once or twice on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Islands is the seventh studio album by the Canadian-American rock group The Band. It was recorded in the group's Shangri-La studios and released in 1977 to mixed reviews. Islands was recorded in order to fulfil the group's contract with Capitol Records, so that the soundtrack to their film The Last Waltz could be released on Warner Bros. Records.
Islands is primarily composed of previously-unreleased songs from The Band's career, including their 1976 cover of "Georgia on My Mind", which was recorded to aid Jimmy Carter in his presidential bid. Robbie Robertson compares the album to The Who's Odds and Sods.

This record may not be the most commercial release of The Band. However there are some stylish melodies and catchy hooks throughout the ten track original release. The cover of Georgia on My Mind is stunning. Richard Manuel has rarely sounded better. Knocking Long John, Aint That A Lot of Love, and Saga of Pepeto Rouge are other catchy numbers. Consistent if not spectacular from start to finish. These guys blend together like a hand in a glove.

A fantastic time warp example of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!
