RUBBER SOUL
Here is a disc that produces a fantastic 'mono' sound without any 'pops'. 'clicks', skips or stalls and has near silent track run ins
Audibly, you will not be disappointed but visually please read my appraisal before bidding, if looks are very important to you
1965 1st pressing PMC 1267 XEX 579-1 / 580-1 2-GH / 3-GP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Visually:
Graded against reflected daylight which will show any significant imperfections - (there will always be wispy handling/bag removal lines under a search light)
GOOD
The disc has been played many times - the surfaces still have a good gloss sheen and there are just a few, non-feelable, needle/handling lines both sides, as well as wispier lines/marks - there is a completely harmless rotation rub band on the first track ( old record players required the playing arm to be manually lifted on and off the disc - if this was not done precisely, the edge of the cartridge rested on the disc edge as it rotated, you can see it in the disc photo above ) - it is better than the impression I'm giving as without the rotation band it would be at least VG

Audio:

Unexpected, truly amazing sound quality from this disc - both sides play from start to finish with no audible intrusions - the track run ins are absolutely silent - as you will know, this is almost impossible to find on any original disc, even unmarked ones usually have pops or the odd click - there is a touch of peak wear on 'Michelle' which is common on this gentle track

Labels:
GOOD
All text is vibrant - there are numerous spindle trails, visible in the disc photo above, mainly around the centre but also some as far as the label edge - no unwanted writing or sticker residue

Cover:
VG+ Original G&L - overall, a strong example, with no writing or damage - pinched ends spine is perfect - some laminate wrinkles (see photos)

Inner sleeve:

Correct, rice paper lined original - near perfect - just age toned and some expected creasing

All records are thoroughly cleaned and I will of course, continue with the surreal requirement of separating the disc from the cover, even though they have been together now for over 50 years and have left a lasting impression :-)
