Description

This is the alternate original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Thad Jones “The Magnificent” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1546.  The beaded rim playing surface is in excellent condition, with a beautiful luster; inaudible scuffs on the first track of Side 1.  The coated reverse-frame West 63rd cover is in virtually new condition – bright, clean, and immaculate in every respect – with sharp corners and unworn seams.  Personnel include Gigi Gryce, Benny Powell, Tommy Flanagan, George Duvivier, and Elvin Jones.  $1000.00.
