Description

The musical score is great and ranges from intense to comical - very fitting for a movie that is exactly the same in its mood!
The soundtrack of the summer of 1990. Filled with hip-hop and New Jack Swing themed tracks the album will no doubt bring back memories of large, very white sneakers, neon sunglasses, and loud, colorful fashions.

TRACK LISTING:
SIDE 1

1. This is What We Do - MC Hammer - remember him? No? Well he was very popular in 1990, I think he works in a Carphone Warehouse now or something. It's a pretty lame track to be honest.

2. Spin That Wheel - Hi Tek 3 - another old-school 90s track that evokes feelings of a colorful New York City. Quite bland though.

3. Family - Riff - a little more funkier than the previous tracks, this R&B effort from the New Jersey-based Riff is another bland one that pushes its luck with a 5-minute running time.

4. 9.95 - Spunkadelic - the Canadian hip-hop group manage to produce one of the better tracks on the album with something that is more livelier and fun.

5. Turtle Power - Partners in Kryme - the closing credits which blew my mind as it blasted from the speakers that night. It still has that same effect whenever the movie finishes.
SIDE 2

6. Let the Walls Come Down - Johnny Kemp - an R&B track with nothing to give it legs in the 21st Century.

7. Every Heart Needs a Home - St. Paul - syrupy and dated, even by 1990 standards.

8. Shredder's Suite - John Du Prez - the score was never released on its own album so the final three tracks here are all you are ever likely to get. This is actually contains great themes which work well within the movie.

9. Splinter's Tale - John Du Prez - an upbeat track with some nice guitar riffs that features dialogue from the movie. They just didn't take scores seriously back then.

10. Turtle Rhapsody On The Half Shell - John Du Prez - the very fun main theme for the movie, which I am sure also had an alternate version with lyrics (it's not on the CD).
