Description

The Ted Brown Sextet

FREE WHEELING

Vanguard Records VRS 8515 <> Mono <> 1956 <> Deep Groove label <> "Jazz Showcase" series

Featuring WARNE MARSH and ART PEPPER

COVER: VG+ ~Very clean and bright cover has a small (1 1/2") split at center of bottom seam. Spine and top seam 100% intact. Otherwise very clean back cover has light, smeared ink marks in two corners.

VINYL: NEAR MINT ~Pristine high gloss vinyl looks unplayed (I've played it and it sounds PRISTINE) . Silver on maroon labels are immaculate.
(See PHOTOs)

This near-legendary LP has been the subject of a recent "180 gram vinyl" re-issue. This auction is for the extremely rarely seen ORIGINAL 1956 Vanguard pressing, on thick, highest grade vinyl -as were all of the Vanguard "Jazz Showcase" releases. Goldmine lists this original pressing at $400.00 in NM condition!

Part of a superbly cared for and deep jazz collection from a recently purchased estate out of Pebble Beach. I hope to list as many of these as I can through the coming weeks. I only have time for about 20 per week; this is the beginning.

This record is kept in a protective, clear poly outer-sleeve, as you shall receive it.

NOTE ON PHOTO 2: The REDS on the record label are completely blown out by the eBay Picture "Services". The label may appear abominally blotchy and spotty here (depending on your computer). It neither appears this way in my original jpeg or on the record itself. The label actually is a normal, very clean, even, deep, maroon red, as it should be.
