Description

This is the Robert Rauschenberg-designed version of Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads.

Limited edition of 50,000.

Clear vinyl.

The packaging is a transparent plastic case with credits printed on circular transparent collages which rotate.

A beautiful, conceptual, user-friendly work of art by the late Rauschenberg.

Opened but never played, from my personal collection. I bought this as a design piece and only opened it to see how the collages were created, which is the only way to experience Rauschenberg's concept. The clear cover has yellowed somewhat with age—they all have. (Probably due to air exposure. The only ones not yellowed are sealed, but then one can never interact with the piece.)

It won the 1983 Grammy for best album package.
