1957 Tubby Hayes and The Jazz Couriers gem on cherished UK TEMPO record label : excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - thick, weighty, completely flat, with earliest matrix numbering, and in normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as unmarked, gleaming and retaining it's original jet black lacquered sheen - remarkable for a 66 year old record! With close inspection under a bright light you may just be able to detect just a couple of small and extremely faint paper scuff...purely superficial and very trivial.  Excellent plus (EX+) condition labels - unmarked apart from a few small and very faint spindle trails on each.  Excellent (EX) condition (at least) both sides laminated West Brothers flipback outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges. The spine remains rigid with no scuffing and just a couple of tiny "nicks", and all spine text is perfectly intact. The corners are perfectly defined right angles with no rubbing at all, the opening edges are firm with no fraying, the reverse side flipbacks are in great shape and all colours, photos and text remain in beautiful condition with superb clarity and definition. The only blemishes are just a couple of very small and non-obvious areas of light laminate lift (adjacent to the front side opening edge about a quarter of the way up and again towards the top, for example), and some very mild browning/age discoloration next to the edges on the reverse side coupled with some very, very light and small age discolouration spots, again on the reverse side, towards the top left corner (only noticeable when viewed closely with the sleeve tilted to an angle in a good light). Remarkable overall condition of this outer sleeve considering it's 66 year antiquity! Excellent plus (EX+) Microgroove audio quality with no skips, repeats, nasty clicks, distortion or background crackle. Simply great tone and wonderful crystal clear instrumentation throughout. You may be able to detect the very occasional and very light background click, but any such clicks are non-intrusive and result from the odd speck of dust being caught in the grooves through decades of storage. I detected a couple of very light clicks on A3, cleaned the track with a soft, damp, warm cloth, and the clicks disappeared - no more than what occurs with a brand new record! Every track is a great listen and how can't they be with jazz greats such as Tubby Hayes (tenor sax/vibes), Ronnie Scott (tenor sax), Terry Shannon (piano), Phil Bates (bass), and Bill Fyden (drums) at the top of their respective games!   Comes complete with near perfect condition original TEMPO thick paper, poly-lined inner sleeve with correct "BRITISH AND FOREIGN PATENTS..." and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" texts with no seam splits, no tears, no edge fraying, no age discolouration, and just a little mild creasing in three of the corners (note that I always insert the record into a brand new plain white poly-lined sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original).
 A rare find indeed, especially in condition as truly impressive as this, and worthy of gracing any serious jazz vinyl collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
