IMPOSSIBLE to find copy of this freak-out electronic tape manipulation album from Trevor Wishart, one of the best electronic music albums ever produced back in the early 70's in a private pressing of 300-400 copies only. From the back cover: "JOURNEY-into-SPACE was made using the most diverse methods of sound-production and tape-composition. Real world events were collected via portable TRs. Miscalleneous sound-sources were collected from metal work-shops, toy-shops, builders' yards, etc. Some of the material for the original source-tapes was group-improvisation on these collected objects, and/or instruments and voices...some very free, others less so, and yet other sections strictly notated. Other sound-sources were recorded individually and mixed or edited later in the studio. All these sounds were sorted, selected, pre-edited, and some treated. From this point the process of tape-composition proper could begin, the most time-consuming part of the work, involving vast amounts of editing, mixing, re-editing, re-mixing, and treatments(speed-change, filtering, etc.)....". Don't lose this chance to grab it now!! The cover is vg+ condition(would be excellent if it didn't have a damage on the top), while vinyl is excellent with minimal flaws!!
