from the Harry Saltman- Don Kirshner Film “TOOMORROW”
Heres a pretty rare album of Psych - Pop Grooviness most famous for
featuring a young Olivia Newton- John
Toomorrow consisted of Ben thomas Vic Cooper Karl Chambers and Olivia Newton-John- they were brought together to star in the Film Toomorrow with producer Harry Saltzman of James Bond fame and Don Kirshner who put together the MONKEES -
On the face of things it would seem like a project that was heading for considerable success - but it ran into all sorts of problems and was only shown for one week in London on release in 1970 .Don Kirshner disowned the film and refused to allow any sort of release during his lifetime . The album soundtrack came out 2 months after the film and not surprisingly sold very few copies .
The film is about 4 students who form a band to help pay for college- they somehow end up floating about in space and performing material that sounds like a cross between Burt Bacharach and not surprisingly the later albums of The Monkees with Olivia Newton-Johns vocals being the obvious high point . Songs were written by Mark Barkan and Ritchie Adams apart from the track Spaceport which comes from the ever reliable genius of Hugo Montenegro and is the sort of track that Beat loving loungecore DJs might well be keen on .
Very Rare album in great shape - some copies come with an insert although sadly not this one !
CONDITION SLEEVE EXCELLENT Back sleeve has a small Numbered round sticker in the top left corner ( see Photo 2)
