Tony Sheridan & The Beatles 1962 UK 1st SAMPLE DEMO press of the ’My Bonnie / The Saints’ 7” single. Complete with the original and incredibly rare Polydor outer record bag. This is the record which started everything for The Beatles and is their first appearance on a commercial disc. It pre-dates the release of ’Love Me Do’ by a massive 9 months.
The gentleman I obtained this from described how he received it direct from Polydor in early 1962 when working for a local record store around the Liverpool area. It was always kept with the original Polydor outer bag with which it came. I have never seen another of these in years of collecting Beatles vinyl and memorabilia.
I would imagine only a handful of sample demo vinyls were issued as this release pre dates the Beatles becoming famous. Note the vinyl labels with Tony Sheridan taking lead credit for both sides. An incredibly rare and desirable early Beatles vinyl.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: NH 66883 A 1V
Side 2: NH 66883 B 1V
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition.
Both labels are in in EXCELLENT+ condition.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition.
The outer bag is in EXCELLENT condition.
