TONTON MACOUTE : NEON LABEL NE4 GATEFOLD

Sole album from Tonton Macoute, recorded after they had spent nine months following the Traffic route and getting it together in the country. Album certainly has a Traffic influence with sax, flute and keyboards to the fore. It was an early release on RCA's progressive label Neon.

Tonton Macoute were strangely named after a Haitian paramilitary force, and consisted of Chris Gavin- all guitars, Dave Knowles - sax, flute, vocals, Paul French - All keyboards, vibes, vocals, Nigel Reveller - percussion. Seven sef-penned tracks to the album - 1. Just like stone, 2. Dont make me cry. 3. Flying South in Winter. 4. Dreams. 5. You Make my jelly roll. 6. Natural High part 1. 7 Natural High part 2.

Album's condition must sit somewhere around VG+. It doesn't seem to have been played much, but there are a few light surface blmishes, and a light scratch to track seven which produces an audible 'tic'. In other respects the album plays very well, with a very full sound. Gatefold sleeve showing slight signs of age to edges, and has the very beginnings of a 'ring' to rear - photo should give the general idea. All told though a decent copy of this considerable rarity..
