Up for auction is an original 1968 stereo US pressing (Sire SES 97012) of Tomorrow's self-titled, classic LP. The record was pressed on heavy vinyl, and it features the classic white, light blue and purple pastel colored Sire/London labels. In the UK, this album was released on the Parlophone label.

Tomorrow's self-titled LP is one of the best psychedelic albums of the 1960's. A four-piece band led by vocalist Keith West, future Yes guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Twink, this forgotten band was most famous for the song "My White Bicycle." In addition to that song, there isn't a weak track on the whole album. Of particular note are the songs "Hallucination" and the band's amazing cover of The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever." If you enjoy psychedelic rock and you want to hear some of the most innovative and experimental music from the Sixties, Tomorrow is for you. This brilliant album is a true masterpiece of Sixties rock.

Tomorrow's self-titled album is also unique in that it sheds light on the origins of progressive rock. Steve Howe went on to become one of the most influential guitarists of the 1970's with the seminal group Yes. His influence can still be heard today. After leaving Tomorrow, Twink went on to record with The Pretty Things on their psychedelic masterpiece "S.F. Sorrow." He later joined The Pink Fairies, and also put out a couple classic solo LPs.

"Tomorrow" didn't sell very well at the time of its release, so the record is quite rare. This album was somewhat popular in underground circles, however. A friend of mine who worked at a record shop in the late '60s told me this album was often requested through phonologs. Phonologs were large, yellow-paged books which listed records that were in print and could be ordered from your local record store.

On a grading scale of M-, EX, VG+, VG, G, and P the condition of this album is as follows:

The Disc is EX. If not for a heat warp, it would grade M-. I do not want anyone to be disappointed with their purchase, so I play graded this LP. The warp causes a whoosh in the softer parts of the first track on both sides of the album. There is also some small writing on the labels. As for the sonics of the LP, there is no groove distortion. The bass is nice and thumpy, while the instruments and vocals come through clean and clear.

The Cover is EX with slight wear to the edges and light ring wear. There are no split seams, no writing and no tears. There is a small bend in the upper left corner which can be seen in the photo below. The album comes with its original London inner sleeve with advertisements for records such as The Rolling Stones' "Satanic Majesties Request," The Moody Blues' "Days Of Future Past" and The Zombies debut.

This is a fantastic album, and as Roger Fennings once wrote, "In the wide-eyed listening dark, hear and feel, feel and dig now, today, the sound of Tomorrow (Junior, Keith, Steve, Twink)."
