Description
"Tommy Dorsey RCA Show" 16 inch transcription disc. Just over 15 minutes this 16 inch, one sided, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 33 1/3 rpm disc. Only one side of the disc is coated, the back side is bare aluminum. This disc was recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public, Very Rare!
This disc contains the second half of Tommy Dorsey's RCA radio program. The date of October 28 is written on the disc, I suspect this is from October 28, 1945
Program stars Tommy Dorsey with guest Roy Rogers. Orchestra is conducted by Jay Blackton
Begins with Tommy Dorsey interviewing Roy Rogers about how he got his start in pictures in 1937. Roy Rogers calls a square dance song which may be titled "Wagoneer"
Other songs include "Tampico" vocal by chorus, "Summertime" with Tommy Dorsey on trombone, "Along The Navajo Trail" vocal Roy Rogers
Includes commercial for RCA radios, television, record players, etc.
Disc is in Excellent Condition with Excellent sound. Sounds like a direct line check which was recorded by The National Broadcasting Company NBC
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can include a CD transfer of the entire disc for the buyer
