Description
HERE is something you almost never see on any label, especially an American one: An unaccompanied vocal, a capella, I say! It's a couple of genuine cowboy ballads of the Old West.
DICK DEVALL, the unadorned one, sings "TOM SHERMAN'S BARROOM" and "OUT ON THE LONE STAR COW TRAIL." This, despite the snazzy National steel guitar he's slinging in the photo. It's his only record!
It took Victor a couple of years to cough this up, recorded 1929, it wasn't issued until 1931. Actually, it's quite amazing it got issued at ALL! (I'm not sure which is rarer: an unaccompanied song, or that it's on "Timely Tunes."
This original and quite scarce 1931 Timely Tunes C-1563 is in ever-so-slightly used V+ condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
