DESCRIPTION
Tom Scott with The California Dreamers ?– The Honeysuckle Breeze [Impulse! ?AS-9163]
Original 1967 stereo first pressing with orange Impulse! labels and "VAN GELDER" stamps. Scarce and desirable pop jazz w/ vocals, a psychedelic gem in the vein of 5th Dimension and Free Design and pretty famous for B2 being the source of the Pete Rock sample for "T.R.O.Y.", although the rest of the album definitely stands on its own. Bill Plummer on sitar. Good selection of covers, including Beatles, Donovan, Coltrane, etc.

Scarce record that's perpetually on a lot of want lists. Copies in similar condition tend to go for $100-$150.
Disc is EX, with a handful of superficial hairline marks and sleeve scuffs (mostly on side A) under bright light, nothing audible and plays great. Vinyl glossy, labels EX. Gatefold laminated sleeve is VG- with wear to corners (rounded and rubbed), some small areas of delamination at edges on back, 3.5" seam split in middle of bottom edge of back, areas of loss at interior of spine, a few faint traces of soiling in places, holepunch to one side of pocket at inner corner (not going through back cover), original Impulse paper inner sleeve with a seam split at edge (I'll include a generic inner sleeve along with the original). Overall a pretty good copy of a desirable record and a good upgrade if you've got a EX/M sleeve. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or for more photos.
See my other auctions for more records, including rare/scarce Turkish and Finnish psych/prog and more rare/scarce jazz that I'm listing over the next few days - happy to combine shipping whenever possible.
