Description
Released by Tamla Motown in 1966, cat # TMG 573; this is “Function At The Junction” / “Call On Me” by Shorty Long.
This is a classic red/white demo with the release date of the 26 August 1966 in the centre of each label. Each label has a slight ring-mark. Visually, the record looks no better than very good as there is a small, but noticeable pressing fault in the centre of the A-side. When played, this fault makes produces one “pop” – the rest of the record plays better than very good throughout. The record comes in the original orange sleeve with a white sticker with artist/track details in the top left corner. The sleeve is worn and has a tear on the front.
All of these Motown singles come from the same source – an original 60’s Top Rank DJ who started in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production in the 1970’s. The vast majority of the collection is mint or unplayed, but he clearly loved his Motown as most of the 60’s and early 70’s singles are generally in very good condition, but with a few notable exceptions!
