Stuart Cowell: Guitars, Organ, Piano / Tony Priestland: Saxes, Flute, Oboe / John Lee: Bass / Jim Toomey: Drums, Percussion
Energetic playing, full of stops and starts, seamlessly increasing and releasing tension, with hints of Colosseum, Tull and Traffic among others; Rock Blues, Prog, Psych but also Country colours;
Sax/ guitar unisons, inventive bass fills, sensitive drumming and tasty use of keyboards (organ and e-piano) are trademarks.
A catchy, full of twists Rock Blues, and an amazingly indefatigable, multi parted, truly progressive epic, filled the album’s very strong 1st side
“I Can’t Change” alternates between haunting flute and organ reminding East of Eden, and a more Folk-y strummed acoustic filled part, vocals going from harsh to dreamy, with psych in-betweens, and “It’s all Up with Us” is a light Rock with Country touches;
“Fuschia” is more Rocking, with a feel good vibe, 60’s vocal harmonies and guitar sounds and plenty of flutes
