TINA PEEL - FIFI GOES POP 45
Before the Fuzztones there was TINA PEEL, Rudi Protrudi & Deb O' Nair's Bubblegum Punk band.
Influenced heavily by the music of 60's bands such as the Monkees, Castaways, Cryan' Shames and 1910 Fruitgum Company
but with the attack and humor of The Ramones and Dictators. Nowhere are Rudi's twisted lyrics more evident than on this,
their ultra rare second single, released on their own Teen Appeal label in 1979.
"Fifi" is a Ramones-style pop tune about accidentally blowing up the family pet poodle in a microwave oven, while the flip-side, "Weekend Geek" is a demented mix of new wave carnival disco and power pop, with lyrics about a circus geek who aspires to work more often - perhaps at KFC. Autographed by Rudi Protrudi.
