" The Second Annual Report of Throbbing Gristle "

1980 12" full-length VINYL LP on French/American label Celluloid Records LTM 1022
(This was, I believe, an unsanctioned-by-Throbbing Gristle release, but it looks more like the original Industrial Records version of the album than any of the smattering of rereleases that followed the original. At least the white cover looks basically identical.)

This record was released in 1980, I believe. You can see the front and rear in the photographs, and the record labels, which were white with black. Throbbing Gristle was Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Lord Peter Christopherson, Genesis P-Orridge. The latter two went on to Psychic TV, and P. Christopherson did Coil, Sickness of Snakes. The second side is the original soundtrack of the COUM Transmissions (or COOM Transmission as it says on the record label) film titled After Cease To Exist.

The record/vinyl is NM and has never actually been played on a turntable. The cover, even being 29 years old (almost 3 decades) and almost completely white, is still in amazing condition, probably NM-.

Throbbing Gristle are a British industrial music and visual arts group that evolved from the performance art group COUM Transmissions. The band consists of Genesis P-Orridge (bass, violin, vocals), Cosey Fanni Tutti (guitars, cornet), Peter Christopherson (aka "Sleazy") (tapes, found sounds, horns), and Chris Carter (synthesizer).

The Second Annual Report is a landmark release by industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle. The album is a combination of live and studio songs. The album was originally released on 12" vinyl in 1977 and pressed to CD, with additional tracks, in 1991.

The vinyl edition enjoyed several different pressings. Industrial Records's original pressing had 785 copies, while Fetish Records pressed 2000 copies. Fetish would press the album twice more after the original Industrial Records master plates were destroyed; the third edition was included in the five album Throbbing Gristle box set and was recut to play backwards and had a chamber orchestra added to "After Cease to Exist". The Fetish plates were reused to cut pressings made by Mute Records and Celluloid Records (the latter of which was released without the band's permission.)

We give them all the very clean hand or WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT, as you see in the photos, and take the pics with someone holding the vinyl in the air, never touching it, pulling it carefully from its sleeve. Whatever we sell you is going to be in the best shape possible. We're all collectors and know that other collectors appreciate the extra mile. I mean, there may be a smoker in the building, but he doesn't blow it into the records, and we handle them as if they might explode! (Although they won't, postal person, we promise)

This is a vinyl record, NOT A CD. You play it on a turntable. That's an arcane device that spins plastic around and around at a constant speed and a diamond on the end of a stick scrapes at it and makes noise that you hopefully enjoy.
