I will be selling some Australian rarities from the 60s and 70s over the next few weeks so be sure to keep an eye on my other auctions!
Up for grabs is a rare lp record entitled "There's an Elf in my Pocket." The namesake was apparently a played staged by Footscray Technical School students in Melbourne in the 70s....and I'm guessing these were songs that featured in it. As the notes explain, all the tracks were recorded in live takes in the studio due to financial constraints. The end result is actually a pretty decent and listenable record...the tracks are well composed, performed and recorded. The songs are generally folky....some hinting at rock and psychedelia influences. A few of the tracks contain tongue in cheek lyrics....however a few of the more serious tracks have have some really nice moments.
This is a rare privately pressed record.....no label/manufacturer info. Probably only a few hundred copies ever made.
Cover is VG+...minor wear and tear but no serious issues.
Vinyl is VG+....glossy with a couple of minor surface marks and scratches....plays well.
Labels are VG+....couple very faint spindle marks, otherwise clean.
Insert notes are VG+....minor wear and tear but no major issues.
All in all a nice copy of this rare 70s Oz record!
