This rare US press is on the wonderful original yellow and black Prestige label. It is complete with the very earliest PRLP 7169 A/B matrix and the original heavy card laminated sleeve. Released in 1954, the album features the Thelonious Monk Quintet, the Thelonious Monk Trio and the Sonny Rollins Quartet and in addition to Monk And Rollins includes Julius Watkins, Percy Heath, Art Blakey, Tommy Potter and Arthur Taylor.
The vinyl is in Very Good+ condition. It has a sensational high gloss, with just a couple of very light marks and wispy hairlines on both sides. The original yellow and black label is extremely bright and completely clean. The text is is sharp and there is only the very slightest spindle wear.
The sound quality is Excellent. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There are moments of light background noise, particularly in quiet moments, but it still has superb audio separation and clarity and is an absolute pleasure from start to finish. 
The laminated heavy card sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has the most sensational polished shine. The green is vivid, the white is crisp, the black text is solid and the image is perfect. There is the slightest wear to the opening edge and a few small age spots on the back, otherwise it is hard to find fault with this exceptional sleeve. The whole of this wonderful heavy sleeve is very solid and the spine is very firm clear text.
