THELONIOUS MONK "IN ACTION" LP
ORIGINAL MONO DEEP GROOVE PRESSING on Riverside blue-and-silver label with tape-reel-and-mic logo and "long-playing microgroove"
RECORD: a solid VG+ to VG++ on the Goldmine scale - light scuffs and hairline scratches from normal wear that do no affect play but for some very faint clicks in 1 passage on each side, otherwise the thick, heavy vinyl plays gorgeously. Labels are in terrific clean condition with barely even any spindle-wear.
LP has been play-graded on a Thorens turntable with Grado Reference cartridge, and cleaned on a VPI HW-16.5 machine.
COVER: VG overall, a 4-inch split at top right corner, otherwise front is clean as a whistle, back has only very faint minor staining and ringwear, and what appears to be possibly a very small hand-drawn ink doodle in top right corner. Spine is like new!
All in all a terrific copy of a terrific album - the companion piece to the Riverside "Misterioso," with the same quartet live at the Five Spot NYC August 1958.
