Description
Hard-to-find full-length LP from Thelonious Monk titled "Thelonious Alone In San Francisco" released by Riverside (RLP 12-312) in 1959. This is an original MONO pressing with blue labels. Has 10 compositions from Thelonious Monk recorded live on solo piano at the Fugazi Hall in San Francicsco taken from two performances. On display are bare bones examples of Monk's eccentric compositional style and percussive technique that set him apart from all other jazz pianists. The recordings benefit from the halls resonating qualities creating beautiful overtones that bring the sound to life. Essential listening!

Labels are in EXCELLENT condition. Vinyl record is in VG+ condition with a few very light surface blemishes. Plays with light, sporadic noises and grooves are in very nice shape for excellent fidelity...sounds great! Cover is in VG- condition with some wear at corners, surface rubmarks, round sticker blemish at top left corner, stock sticker with tape residue on lower part of spine, 2/3rds seam-split of top edge, has personal ink stamp at bootom of backside and has some pen-writing on song title box.
