Although their album output was relatively small in the UK, the importance of The Yardbirds is massive. It lauched the careers of three of the world’s greatest ever rock guitarists in Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. Originally giants in the British ‘Beat Boom’ of the early to mid-1960s, this album now blends in elements of psychedelia and many consider it to be their finest album with all the songs self-written. Issued with the title of ‘The Yardbirds’, it has become better known to collectors and fans as ‘Roger The Engineer’ from the cover drawing of the album’s engineer Roger Cameron.
